Kevin West Judges Davies’ 2014 Moot

On March 7-8, the Moot Court Committee of Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP held their annual Corporate/Securities Law Moot. “Recognized as the leading event of its kind in Canada, [the Moot] provides an opportunity for top students from Canadian law schools to debate current legal issues in corporate and securities law with senior practitioners from Toronto law firms and corporations, regulators from the Ontario Securities Commission and judges.”

I would like to thank Davies for the opportunity to serve as a Moot Court judge again this year.

The mooters did a fantastic job and I was very impressed with each and every participant. I appreciate the time and attention they put into preparing such complex arguments, and I’m grateful that I was asked to be a part of the evaluation process.

Congratulations to the winners and to the Moot Court Committee for yet another successful event!
